Located North Central in Saskatoon, Silverwood Heights is made up of single detached houses, condominiums and semi-detached houses. According to MLS listings, as of 2016, the average amount of a house was $397,298.

Residential construction were largely built from 1981 to 1985.

There are five schools located in Silverwood Heights:

• Brownell School public elementary school is located at 274 Russell Road. 
• Silverwood Heights public elementary school is located at 403 Silverwood Road.
• St. Angela School Catholic elementary school is located at 302 Russell Road. 
• École Sister O'Brien School Catholic elementary school is located at 451 Silverwood Road. 
• Marion M. Graham Collegiate public high school is located at 602 Lenore Drive. 

There are three parks in the area, where educational programs are organized for children of all ages by the Silverwood Heights Community Association:

• W.J.L. Harvey Park South 
• W.J.L. Harvey Park North 

Cobbs Bakery is located just in front of the Lawson Heights Mall, and is known for serving freshly baked bread and pastries every day.
